• Account information: your name, email address, date of birth (used to keep young learners safe), and, for learners under 13, a parent or guardian email.
• Learning activity: the articles and topics you open, quizzes you take, skills you save, journeys you create or take, questions you ask, XP, streaks, and reading history.
• Content you submit: links you paste, topics you search, and text you enter.
• Technical data: device, browser, IP address, and usage information collected through cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics.
• Payment data: if you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your card details. We do not store full card numbers.

We use information to:

• Provide, operate, personalize, and secure the Service, including your progress, recommendations, and reminders.
• Study, analyze, and improve our products and services, understand how the Service is used, develop new features, improve content quality and educational effectiveness, and conduct research and analytics. Where we do this we use aggregated or de-identified data wherever practical.
• Communicate with you, including service messages and, where you have opted in, learning reminders and promotional updates.
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and technical issues, and comply with legal obligations.

If you opt in, we may send learning reminders (for example, a nudge to continue a topic you started) and occasional product updates or offers. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can change your preferences any time in your profile. We do not send marketing email to accounts registered as under 18.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers who process data on our behalf (for example hosting, analytics, email delivery, and payments), under contracts that limit their use of the data.
• Authorities when required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
• A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Baiku is designed to be safe for young learners. Accounts registered as under 18 receive a safeguarded experience, are kept private, and are excluded from marketing email. For learners under 13 we ask for a parent or guardian email. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us and we will delete it.

You can access and update your profile, manage email preferences, and delete your account. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these, contact us at the address below.

We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations, then delete or de-identify it. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

We operate on Google Cloud and may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can download your data and delete your account directly from your profile settings, or contact us to exercise any right. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Legal bases we rely on: performance of our contract with you (to provide the Service), your consent (for analytics cookies and marketing email), our legitimate interests (to secure, maintain, and improve the Service), and compliance with legal obligations.

We use essential cookies (for sign-in and language) that are required to run the Service, and, only with your consent, analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand usage. Google Analytics does not load until you accept in the cookie banner, and you can decline. Managing cookies in your browser or declining analytics will not break essential features.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Service, our practices, or the law. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
