Many Baiku explainers are adapted and simplified from Wikipedia, licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0. Each article links back to its original source, and Baiku's simplified text is offered under the same CC BY-SA 4.0 license. Wikipedia is a registered trademark of the Wikimedia Foundation; Baiku is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Wikimedia Foundation.

Article images come from Wikimedia Commons and are used only when they are in the public domain or under a Creative Commons license that permits reuse. The author and license for each image are shown beneath it on the article.

When no source article exists, Baiku writes an original explainer using Google's Gemini models. These are clearly labelled and should be double-checked for important facts.

Baiku's quiz style is informed by open, education-focused question datasets. We follow their design principles, and where we use their questions directly we do so under their licenses with attribution:

• GSM8K (grade-school math reasoning) — MIT License.
• GPQA (expert-validated science) — CC BY 4.0.

For young learners, Baiku rewrites articles in a warmer, simpler style guided by principles drawn from Maria Montessori's public-domain writings (concrete before abstract, following the child's curiosity, one small step at a time). Baiku is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by the Association Montessori Internationale, the Montessori Foundation, or any Montessori organization; "Montessori" is used only to describe the inspiration for the approach.
